When Canoe approached Green Olive Media, the concept had a large following of devoted fans in Atlanta and an established history of culinary excellence. However, the client wanted to expand its reach beyond Atlanta and garner national recognition. Green Olive Media’s communications team focused on increasing brand recognition in the national food and beverage community, as well as increasing brand awareness and loyalty among the Georgia community and visitors. Green Olive  Media crafted a targeted press list of food/beverage and lifestyle writers across the nation. Within the local and national markets, pitching efforts were tailored to highlight Chef Matthew Basford in profile pieces, recipe features and on-air TV demos. Canoe was pitched for national and local coverage highlighting the restaurant’s cuisine, restaurant design, location on the bank of the Chattahoochee River and the stunning manicured gardens.  Our design team transformed Canoe’s e-mail marketing program by designing a custom HTML newsletter format to dispense monthly news, notable press mentions and special events. Additionally, they built and maintained an interactive online forum through Facebook and Twitter to engage in dialogue with the restaurant’s followers. Utilizing our creativity and understanding of the food and beverage market, we also developed specialty on-premise programming. Most notable, Green Olive Media established Canoe’s annual and highly-anticipated music series ‘Song of the South’ and the was key in the implementation of Canoe’s outdoor River Bar. Green Olive Media also crafted a detailed national event calendar and secured Canoe’s participation in nation food and beverage events such as Charleston Wine + Food and cooking at the James Beard House.
