Renaissance approached Green Olive Media in need of some assistance with their property in Sonoma, California. The Lodge at Sonoma presents guests with modern comfort and convenience in a breathtakingly rustic setting. The previous branding was falling short of communicating everything The Lodge at Sonoma had to offer its guests, so Green Olive was brought in to refocus the resort’s voice and give the brand a much needed facelift. This brand overhaul would include a slew of hotel and in-room collateral and allow the resort to stand out in a sea of nearby competition.
As Green Olive began the design process, the folks at Sonoma made it clear that they wanted their brand to celebrate its location in wine country. The design team quickly began looking at various inspiration, from black and white photography for visual references, to vintage wine labels for typography and pattern. The voice of The Lodge at Sonoma rebrand was equally important. Since the resort is known as a destination to unwind, a laid-back, witty tone was established, giving the brand a distinct personality.
