When Sugarfire approached Green Olive Media, they had successfully opened three locations in and around St. Louis, Missouri. On the brink of franchising, Sugarfire was facing the risk of being perceived as a regional chain and wanted to ensure chef/founder Mike Johnson remained the face of the brand. Green Olive Media focused on strengthening brand recognition and streamlining the brand identity throughout expansion. With entry into each new market, the team curated a targeted press list of food, beverage, and business writers to create tailored pitches that highlighted chef Mike as the brand's persona, while still telling a story of local ownership and focusing on chef-driven fare. Green Olive Media secured national and local television demos throughout the United States, further building the brand's fan-base while furthering chef Mike's notariety.

Furthermore, Green Olive Media assisted franchisees with local partnership strategies that positioned local owners as active members of society to better engage with the surrounding community. In addition to local partnerships, GOM assisted in curating and promoting brand partnerships, pop up events, food truck launches, and more that further embedded the restaurant within each specific community. 

Simultaneously, Green Olive continued to build chef Mike's reputation as a fierce competitor via placements in prestigious international events such as Charleston Wine + Food and Brazil's Churrascada, securing partnerships with national brands like Budweiser and Royal Oak Charcoal, and national TV segments such as Travel Channel’s “Food Paradise,” Food Network’s “Beat Bobby Flay! Rematch” and Fox national television.  These top-tier events and television placements were key to building credibility and notoriety by aligning chef Mike with top chefs and pitmasters around the world.
